    nVidia legt mal wieder - scheinbar - gewaltig vor. Und wie ich vermutet habe, heben sie sich die 1080Ti und Titan vermutlich bis zum Jahreswechsel auf, um damit AMDs Highend-Launch zu torpedieren. Alles wie immer.

    Anders wäre es nur wenn AMDs Angebot tatsächlich nach Ankündigung auch mal unter drei Monaten lieferbar wäre und die Leute nicht immer alles glauben was nVidia so erzählt. Es wäre nicht das erste Mal das sie eine Holzattrappe in die Kamera halten. Wie viel des verbauten Speichers tatsächlich nutzbar sind?
  • Ist doch egal was drin ist. Gekauft wird es trotzdem. Ist genau wie beim Apfel-Telefon.

    Wenn man sich die Kommentare bei Computerbase so durchließt.... Jeder dritte hat die Karte schon "gekauft" bevor irgendein Test dazu auf dem Markt ist. Wenn man solche Kunden hat dann wundert es mich nicht das Nvidia zur Gewinnmaximierung seine Kunden mit der 970 auch noch so bescheißt. Die kaufen es am Ende ja trotzdem :)

    Selbst wenn von den neuen Karten jede 10. im ersten Jahr explodiert geht Nvidia nicht unter :dizzy:

    In dem Kontext fiel mir letztens noch ein CB-Thread ein, der skandalös titelte das die neue AMD-Polaris-Generation im Sommer "nur" so schnell wie eine 980Ti sei. Da die im Midrange-Marktsegment um und unter 300,-€ angesetzt sind wäre das ein ziemliches Brett für die nVidia 1070 die um 400,-€ liegen soll.

    Wenn man plötzlich die Leistung einer 700,-€ 980Ti ein Jahr später für 300-400,-€ bekommt bei noch weiter gesunkener Leistungsaufnahme wäre das von beiden Herstellern ja ein durchaus interessantes Angebot. Bis dato ist das ja immerhin noch der schnellste Grafikchip auf der Welt. Das würde auch zu AMDs Ansage passen das sie zunächst massive Leitungszuwächse in der Breite bringen wollen, also im Midrange-Markt wo auch die meisten Karten über den Tisch gehen und damit VR zu befeuern. Zu erschwinglichen Preisen. Mobile-Markt nicht zu vergessen. Highend ist zwar Prestigeträchtig, aber letztlich um Gewinne zu erzielen ziemlich irrelevant und Gewinne wären für AMD nicht erst seit gestern wichtig.

    Was wiederum zeigt das die richtigen Leistungsfeger von beiden erst zum Jahreswechsel anstehen, mit HBM2 und ich fürchte preislich vierstellig. Sicher bei der Titan, aber wenn die 1080 schon bei 700,- bis 800,-€ liegt, wird die Ti vermutlich um 900,-€ aufwärts platziert werden. AMD wird vermutlich wie üblich leistungsmäßig kaum dahinter liegen und kaum mehr als 100-150,-€ drunter, wenn überhaupt. Doch dafür gibt es vermutlich auch effektiv 50-75% Mehrleistung im Vergleich zur 980Ti.

    GPU-Technisch vermutlich seit fünf Jahren auf jeden Fall mal wieder ein signifikanter Zuwachs, mit dem wir dann vermutlich auch mindestens genauso lang (vermutlich länger!) werden auskommen müssen, solang wie der Umstieg von 28 auf 14nm-Fertigung gedauert hat.

    Ich will mich nicht beschweren, das Tempo in dem AMD die Treiber aktualisiert ist schon rekordverdächtig.

    Nachdem sich wochenlang alle über den Preis von 789,-€ für die "Founders Edition GTX 1080" aufgeregt haben sind aktuell die ersten, deutlich überlegenen  Custom-Designs ab 120,-€ weniger gelistet.

    Ich glaube da werden wohl einige "Founders Edition-Besteller" jetzt rasch stornieren wollen, so unfassbar langsam wie der Shop gerade ist. Zum Glück kann ich über die jetzt lästern.  :)

    Die Preise der 980Ti dürften vor allem jetzt mächtig unter Druck geraten, da zahlt ja niemand gleich oder mehr dafür als für eine schnellere 1080.

    Wie angenommen handelt es sich um eine Initiative Marktanteile zurück zu gewinnen. Polaris in Form der 480X startet Ende Juni zum aggressiven Preis von 199$. Soviel Rechenleistung so erschwinglich wie nie zuvor könnte also aufgehen und das dürfte dem dämlichsten nVidia-Fanboy in die Karten spielen, sind die Grünen in Sachen Preis doch in eine völlig gegengesetzte Richtung unterwegs. Nur ob sich das für AMD auszahlt?

    Das soll die 480X ändern, mit 5 GFlops, HDR, DP1.4 für nur 199$. 2,8x soviel Performance/Watt.

    Die neue nVidia 1070 ist etwa mit 6.5 GFlops veranschlagt. 5 GFlops für 300 Dollar weniger ist also durchaus knackig und liegt im eigenen Haus gleichauf mit der R9 390.

    Unter DX12 in Ashes of the Singularity ist die 480X knapp schneller als eine GTX 1080 von nVidia.

    Doom unter Vulkan wird laufen wie die Hölle ohne eine 700 Dollar Grafikkarte zu erfordern. HDR kommt ebenfalls.

    Was können denn diese 700 Dollar-Grafikkarte die dieser Tage veröffentlicht werden? Wir sehen einen Ashes-Benchmark wo raus kommt was schon gesagt wurde.
