Aus Ashes: FIRST WEEK DEV STATUS
    (1) The campaign. It is true that the included campaign is not that in-depth. Our last RTS, Sins of a Solar Empire, didn't include one and we had not intended to make one for Ashes.
We decided to make a campaign based on feedback during early access with the general intent of it being an introduction to the game with most people playing the game in sandbox mode (skirmishes either single player or MP).
Now, my view is that while the customer isn't necessarily always right, only a fool ignores their customers. Therefore, here is what we're doing to do:
We're going to release a deluxe edition of the campaign ASAP that will add difficulty levels to it, more levels and provide a lot more story elements to it. This will be a free update, not DLC. It'll also have new stuff and difficulty levels hooked to a global high score so there's an incentive to replay the campaign.
We're operating on 1/7th the budget Supreme Commander 1.0 had in an era where the RTS market is a fraction of what it once was. So it's a chicken/egg thing. Sales will fund more eye candy.

    Eurogamer doch recht positiv

    PCGamer 75%

    IGN 7.7

In multiplayer, as long as the host has the DLC it'll be available to play. This is the plan for all future DLC and expansions. I.e. Someone who buys Ashes base and zero DLC should be able to hook up online with someone who has Ashes:Forged Void Alliance Wars or whatever and be able to play the game with them using all the units that the host has.
This will do two things: One, keep the multiplayer community from splintering and two, encourage people to play the game multiplayer.

    Updates
    ## Post 1.1 Micro updates ##
Since the 1.1 release we've had two micro-updates to the game. They've been content additions mostly in preparation for upcoming Steam sales.
Here is what has been added in the past 5 days:
+ New Mission: Rigel III (campaign mission between missions 1 and 2)
+ Nexus Armor increased from 12 to 16
+ Armor build time reduced from 45 seconds to 40 seconds
+ Quantum Relay radioactive cost reduced from 350 to 300
+ Nova bomb Armor piercing reduced from 16 to 8
+ Punisher Hedavy Plasma cannon Armor piercing reduce from total to 8
+ Call Probing Force rate increase changed from 10% to 20%
+ Sensor drone rate increased changed frfom 25% to 10%
    + Couple minor bug fixes
+ Balance update to the Slow and Steady map
    + Reduced creep HP slightly
+ Moved the planets around to fit the new campaign mission. :)
+ Sentinel Armor increased from 8 to 12
+ Repair Bay armor increased from 4 to 12
+ Drone bay HP increased from 1500 to 4000
These are all data changes so it's still 1.1.
    Zwei neue Einheiten:

The Eradicator has a ranged beam weapon on it that is primarily there to take out at range Cruisers. It's not a sniper so it's not as good as the Nemesis for long range sniping. It is fairly poor against Frigates and its main weapon has no armor penetration so it's not great against Dreadnoughts either.

The Athena has a somewhat different purpose. It's short range but designed to deal with cruisers as well. If it can get up close to a Dreadnought it can do real harm but it's not so good against frigates.

The Athena has 3 different weapons but only one of which is accurate enough to target a frigate.

We expect these two guys to show up this Spring.

The first expansion: Escalation is coming!
Stardock is pleased to announce that Ashes of the Singularity is about to get its first expansion pack: Escalation.

Escalation increases the player count per map from 8 to 16, doubles the size of the largest map type, introduces two new story-driven campaigns, adds strategic zoom to manage world-sized battles, includes many new units, supports upgradeable defensive structures and much more.

The game, set in a post-technological singularity future, puts the player in the role of the commander of either the post-singularity humans or their AI opponents called The Substrate. That game supports map sizes ranging from small, arena-style all the way up to world spanning massive maps with up to 16 players.

All the races from Ashes of the Singularity get new units and buildings in Escalation. For example, the PHC gains some new defensive structures, a strategic bomber, a gunship, new combat vehicles and more. Meanwhile, The Substrate gain defensive structures including an anti-air cannon, as well as some new flying units and a unit that bolsters their economy, among others.

While Ashes of the Singularity has many strong multiplayer features, Stardock expects most people to play the game exclusively single-player. To that end, Escalation adds two new campaigns that provide players a host of new custom challenges in addition to the already excellent single player sandbox game.

    Features
    • 9 new units
    • 12 new defensive structures
    • Volcanic planets
    • Crystaline planets
    • Strategic zoom
    • A prequel single player campaign
    • Updated version of the Imminent crisis campaign
    • Escalation single player campaign
    • Doubles the number of players from 8 to 16
    • Doubles the maximum map size
    • Updated soundtrack
    • Changes to the Substrate economy system
    • Visual and UI update
    • Upgradable defenses
    • New orbital abilities
    • Substrate gains a Harvester unit that can steal resources from regions
    • New game setup options

Escalation will be available for pre-order on 8/25/16 and will release Fall 2016. At release, existing Ashes players can upgrade for $19.99 and new players can get Escalation for $39.99.

    Escalation Release Date: November 3

    25. SEPTEMBER - DRAGINOL
    Greetings!

We have a tentative release date of November 3.

Here's what we've been working on for both Escalation and Ashes of the Singularity (the base game)

    1. We've been optimizing the unit AI. The goal here is that even though your armies may contain thousands of units, we don't expect you, the player to have to manage more than a handful of armies. The unit AI is designed to handle carrying out your broader orders.

    2. The new Escalation campaigns are being tested right now. Escalation will include a modified campaign from Ashes of the Singularity. We're having to make some changes so that there are no tutorial like missions.

    3. We're doing a lot of visual tweaking to the new Strategic Zoom mode. When you zoom out the camera, the game transition to a strategic view of the planet ala Galactic Civilizations and Sins of a Solar Empire.

If you have any questions, let us know.
